Welcome to the webpage of Felix Strobel. I am an Economist in the
International and Euro Area Macroeconomic Analysis Division at Deutsche Bundesbank. My main research interests are in the fields of monetary and fiscal policy with a focus on the role of banking and financial markets for business cycles.
Previously, until July 2019, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Monetary and Financial Stability (IMFS) of Goethe University Frankfurt.
There, I was supporting the extension of the Macroeconomic Model Data Base (MMB).
Last year, I was invited as a Visiting Scholar to the Hoover Institute at Stanford University. I received my Ph.D. degree in Economics in July 2017 from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. My doctoral thesis investigates on the effects of sovereign risk on the size of the government spending multiplier. My main supervisor was Lutz Weinke. I was a participant of the Berlin Doctoral Program of Economics and Managment Sciences. I obtained my Master's in Economics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and my Bachelor's of Philosophy&Economics at the University of Bayreuth.
My teaching experience ranges from undergraduate level classes to Ph.D. level classes, and is centered on the fields of macroeconomics and monetary economics.
